Source is an agricultural, artisanal and regenerative project in the mountains of the south of France. This area asks us to live close to nature and respect our surroundings. The people who lived in these mountains for centuries have always had a strong sense of community. We feel inspired to create our modern version of this.
Source is a social project. We welcome families with sensitive children for a specialised holiday to reconnect with nature, animals and hopefully, with their inner self. During the school holidays our terrain is open to these visitors.

Because we are a place of care-giving and healing, we live by our core values and boundaries to be able to accommodate these people and as a team to be able to work harmoniously all year round. We choose a simple life, a happy life, but we understand that getting there might not be so simple. This is why we developed core values and core boundaries (see: Our Core Values & Boundaries).

At project Source we take care of ourselves, each other, our animals and our surroundings. It is a place where we engage our hands with the soil, where we can talk about our feelings or retreat in silence.

The care for our animals structures our days, as on a daily basis, project Source is an agricultural project where we take care of a herd of mohair goats and some lovely chickens. We process the wool from raw material into a finished product through washing, carding, spinning, weaving, and knitting. In addition to this we take care of a food forest, striving to eventually become more self-sufficient. We offer workshops in for example wool processing, fermentation, and natural dyeing. Over time, more ateliers will be constructed, as we have many hobbies and highly value creative expression.

Team Source lives on the terrain year round in self-sufficient tiny wooden chalets. We live based on natural principles as much as possible and we love being outside as much as the weather permits. We learn with and from each other and strive to do things ourselves, chopping our own wood, constructing our own buildings, growing our own food in a food forest, baking our own bread, making our own clothes. We hope to create a place and a way of living that can be carried on by the next generations.

Basically, Source is a place where we co-create all our most thoughtful ideas; a together-sufficient small community where the ideas and ideals of all generations can flourish.

Team Source has always felt a connection to children, youth and adults that feel different and have a ‘non-conventional’ way of ‘being’. Maybe because that’s how we feel too, to varying degrees. We also observe that our society increasingly recognizes young people with mental health challenges. These people now form such a significant part of our population that we believe that we should start looking at how we can organize society according to their needs, instead of desperately holding on to society where so many people no longer feel at home.

All neurodiversity, in our opinion, actually hides great qualities. The creativity, imagination and intelligence of all people can be a lesson and a mirror for the environment and a valuable source of information. We feel that we want to be a place where people with challenges on their path can flourish, instead of being left behind.

During the holiday season, families with sensitive children can join the rhythm of life at Source; they can participate in workshops on wool processing, enjoy the peace and quiet of nature and engage with our animals. Experienced coaches will be present during the vacation weeks to offer coaching to families where needed.
